Edelson PC Partner Natasha J. Fernández-Silber has been appointed Interim Co-Lead Class Counsel by U.S. District Judge David J. Novak in commercial real estate brokers’ multidistrict litigation against CoStar Group, Inc., which operates the popular CoStar and LoopNet platforms.
The Case
Commercial real estate brokers alleged in their complaint that CoStar uses exclusionary conduct to monopolize the markets for commercial real estate listing and database services. CoStar’s alleged exclusionary conduct — which centers on exclusive licensing agreements that prevent brokers from sharing their own listing data with rival platforms — has enabled CoStar to exclude rivals, acquire and maintain monopoly power, and charge supracompetitive prices for its services.
The Appointment
Ms. Fernández-Silber serves as Interim Co-Lead Class Counsel alongside Steven L. Groopman of DiCello Levitt LLP and Michael G. Dickler of Sperling Kenny Nachwalter, LLC.
