ANDREW SCHMIDT is an E-Discovery Director at Edelson PC where his work focuses on litigation support in discovery matters and coordinating projects with the document review team. Andrew works on a wide variety of consumer class actions and mass tort cases. Before arriving at Edelson Andrew worked as an immigration attorney. Andrew is currently the co-founder and President of Faith Seeds International, a non-profit that provides scholarships to underprivileged children in Guatemala.
- In re Marriott International, Inc., Customer Data Security Breach Litigation, MDL 2879 (D. Md.). Coordinating discovery matters with plaintiffs tracks and leading the document review team to help the City of Chicago hold Marriott accountable for the massive 2018 data breach that affected millions of consumers.
- State of Idaho v. Purdue, et al. Working with the litigation team to develop a discovery strategy that looks to reveal the extent of the opioid crisis in Idaho and identify the companies who fueled the crisis.
- In re: Nat’l Collegiate Athletic Assoc’n Student-Athlete Concussion Injury Litig.- Single Sport/Single School (Football). Representing former NCAA football players by coordinating document review of MDL and individual cases.
- District of Columbia v. Juul Labs, Inc. and District of Columbia v. Facebook. Supporting litigators by managing document review for these cases that seek to protect consumers in our nation’s capital.
