Curriculum Vitae
MEGANÂ DELUREYÂ is an Associate at Edelson PC, where she works on the trial team handling mass torts, consumer class actions, and privacy litigation.
Megan is a key member of the trial team litigating on behalf of thousands of victims of the Labor Day 2020 fires in a landmark class action lawsuit against PacifiCorp, where she helped secure $127 million in damages across two trials (the firm has won nearly $500 million to date). Her direct examination of a wildfire survivor contributed to a record-breaking $8.5 million award in noneconomic damagesâone of the largest individual awards in the case.
In privacy litigation, Megan secured class certification for 23 million California residents in the first case brought under California’s Automated License Plate Recognition statute. She also helped secure an $18.2 million settlement for Wendy’s employees in an Illinois BIPA case.
Megan is committed to protecting victims of gun violence. She represented synagogue mass shooting victims against a gun manufacturer accused of negligent and deceptive marketing practices. Her efforts yielded substantial discovery from the manufacturer, including depositions of multiple high-level executives and tens of thousands of internal documentsâa rare outcome in gun litigation where discovery is typically limited.
Before joining Edelson, Megan practiced at a prominent international law firm, gaining trial experience while maintaining an active pro bono practice. She represented Afghan women fleeing during the fall of Kabul in their asylum proceedings.
Megan earned her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, where she served as editor for The University of Chicago Legal Forum and organized the journal’s annual symposium. Through the school’s clinical programs, she represented an LGBTQ asylum seeker and advocated for an environmental justice nonprofit in state administrative proceedings.
Prior to law school, Megan earned her B.A. in Anthropology and MSW from Washington University in St. Louis’s Brown School of Social Work. She worked for a research lab applying systems sciences to social issues, taught graduate-level courses in participatory system dynamics, and founded the Changing Systems Summit, an annual event training students to use systems thinking tools to address community equity issues.
