PATRICK NTCHOBO is Trial Counsel at Edelson PC. Patrick’s practice focuses on trial advocacy before judges, juries, and arbitrators nationwide in high-stakes cases—often of first impression—on behalf of victims of corporate wrongdoing and governmental entities. He has secured a $50 million dollar verdict as first-chair trial counsel. Through his pro bono appellate practice, he also represents immigrants facing deportation and people facing criminal prosecution.
Prior to joining Edelson PC, Patrick clerked for Judge Haywood S. Gilliam Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and Judge Gabriel P. Sanchez of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He began his career in Texas state politics, where he served as a legislative director and communications aide for multiple state representatives.
- Wildfires Litigation: Represents thousands of victims of the Labor Day 2020 fires in a landmark class action lawsuit against PacifiCorp. Secured a $50 million dollar verdict as first-chair trial counsel in damages case and helped secure a landmark $90 million verdict for the class representatives and helped secure a landmark $90 million verdict for the class representatives. - Ethylene Oxide Litigation: Represents hundreds of cancer survivors in litigation against ethylene oxide sterilizers and chemical producers around the country. Served as trial counsel in multiple bellwether trials against medical device sterilizers in Illinois and Colorado. Knobbe v. Isomedix Operations, Inc. et al., No. 2022 L 008574 (Cir. Ct. Cook County)
- JUUL Litigation: Represented the District of Columbia in a lawsuit against JUUL Labs, Inc. for marketing and selling addictive nicotine-based products to kids and teenagers. JUUL ultimately settled for $15.2 million—the largest litigated settlement DC has ever secured under the Consumer Protection Procedures Act. District of Columbia v. - Civil Rights and Criminal Defense: Serves as lead appellate counsel in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in a racial discrimination lawsuit against the Oregon Department of Corrections. Served as lead trial counsel in multiple jury trials and successfully secured favorable outcomes, including a complete acquittal from assault and harassment charges on self-defense grounds. Diaz v.
